Welcome to the
El Nido Cat Sanctuary!
You don't know how excited I am to say those words but unfortunately we're not quite there yet.

We're still leagues away from where we actually want to be but I wholeheartedly welcome you in joining us as we take bigger strides forward.

We're soft launching our website in an effort to centralize information in preparation for reaching a wider and newer audience. Hopefully this will also provide a better platform for everyone to learn more about our goals and plans as well as how to support our efforts in willing the sanctuary into existence.

It's still a long and winding road but I'll be forever thankful to have your support each step of the way.

Our Story

How We Came To Be

My name is Andrew and I am from Baguio, this is the story all about how I ended up starting the El Nido Cat Sanctuary.
After moving to El Nido for work, sometime during my second year I met a kitten, that I named Jett, at the airport in Peurto Princesa, immediately I fell in love with her and decided to take her with me on the 5 hour journey to El Nido to share my new home with her.

Unfortunately within two months of Jett joining my family she passed away, the special bond I shared with her sparked my love for cats and the start of my passion for animal welfare, in honour of her, I created the El Nido Cat Sanctuary.

Our approach to reaching our goals is three fold.

Rescue and Rehome

Educate and Reform

Rescue and Rehome

The El Nido Cat Sanctuary seeks to provide lifelong care and love for the stray, abandoned, and abused cats through adoption or a permanent residence within the sanctuary.

Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release

TNVR is the internationally accepted most effective approach to controlling the stray and feral population in the most humane way.

By controlling the population we will aim to improve the lives of the cats, contribute significantly to the preservation of the biodiversity of Palawan, and alleviate public concerns regarding stray and feral cats.

Educate and Reform

Public education programs are what will give us the best chance at improving the standards of living of the cats of El Nido. By actively reaching out to the community to be part of the solution and by designing the facilities to welcome guests we allow them to learn about the purpose and goals of the sanctuary as well as how to properly interact with and better understand the nature of cats.
